All customers will need to register for Online Banking as a new user.
Customers can use their existing Online Banking username, if they would like.
To begin registration for Online Banking, you can click on one of the links or click on the “Register” button.
The first step of registration is to enter your information so that your identity can be validated.
Personal accounts will be asked to fill out the following information:
- First name
- Last name
- SSN
- Date of Birth
- Account number
- Home phone OR
- Mobile phone
Once completed, click on the “Submit” button to continue.
NOTE: The first and last name should match what is seen on your statement
The first step of registration is to enter your information so that your identity can be validated.
Business accounts will be asked to fill out the following information:
- Business name
- Tax ID
- Account number
- Home phone OR
- Mobile phone
Once completed, click on the “Submit” button to continue.
The next step of Registration is to choose a Username and Password.
The Username can be the same as the Username that is being used in the existing Online Banking system.
The first Password that is set up can be the same Password that is being used in the existing Online Banking system, as well.
The next step of Registration is to set up a Security Phrase. This phrase will be presented during login anytime that the customer is being required to enter in their password. It can be anything that the customer would like but should be something that is easily recognized by the customer. If the phrase that is presented to the customer during login is not recognized, the customer should not continue with logging in and should contact the bank.
The next step of Registration is to select and answer 3 Security Questions.
The customer can select a question from the drop-down list, or they can create their own Custom Question.
The next step of Registration is for the customer to select the multi-factor authentication that will be used when logging in. There are two options, and the setting can always be changed in the future:
- Answer security questions — If this option is selected, when the customer logs in, one of the 3 questions that the customer set up previously will be randomly chosen and presented to the customer for them to answer.
- Request/enter a security code — This is the most secure option. If this option is selected, when the customer logs in, they will be prompted to decide how they will receive the security code (via text message or via automated phone call).
Next, the customer will be presented with the option to Update the User Profile and Preferences.
The First name and Last name will be populated; however, the customer will need to enter a valid email address. To enter a valid email address, click on the “+ Add” option in the Email section. The customer can update or change any other settings seen here at this time. Should the customer want to edit any of the settings later, they will be able to do so.
The next step is to read and accept the Online Banking Agreement. To read the agreement, click on the link. The customer will not be able to finalize their registration until they click on the link to review the
agreement.
Once the customer has reviewed the agreement, they can come back to this window and click on the “Accept” or “Decline” button. Clicking on the “Decline” button will not allow the customer to get access to Online Banking.
The final step of registration is to set up a phone number where a security code can be delivered to.
This step is required even if the customer has chosen the option to answer security questions during log in.
The “Type” field is a drop-down
option where the customer can select either Mobile or Voice.
Mobile will be for text messaging and Voice will be for voice-
automated communication.
The customer can choose to get a test message sent to them if they would like.
Once the customer has completed all of the previous steps, they will have access to Online Banking!
NOTE: Business customers will not get immediate access to Online Banking — their request will be reviewed and approved by First State Bank of the South.
